Numbers Don't Always Equal Dollars

Some bands become obsessed with their follower numbers on social media. They do anything they can to increase that stat. They: 

• Place ads that attract people who really don't care about them or their music. 
  
• Pay services that boost their numbers using fake accounts. 
  
• Post content that they are embarrassed to have associated with their name, but that is trendy today. 
  

As a result, I know of bands with over a million followers on Facebook who could not sell out any venue larger than a public restroom stall.

Build a following of real fans and you will have a music career. Desperately increase your follower numbers through any means available and you will have a music hobby that you support with a day job.
