Full interview with Bill Gibson, drummer for Huey Lewis & The News. Recorded in April 2018. Bill talks about the most challenging song for him to play, developing songs for the the album "Fore", and the endurance of the band.
Fred LeBlanc of Cowboy Mouth tells the story behind the song "Bad".
"My main advice for up-and-coming musicians is to learn music, to know your way around your instrument musically. I spent a lot of years when I was younger ... I'm sort of an autodidact when it comes to music. I taught myself everything I know. I never had any lessons, and so consequently I went down a lot of wrong roads, and I wish I'd focused on music earlier than just trying to play along with a song with something. I wish I knew why the pieces fit. I know more now than I did then." - Steve Gomes of The Fabulous Thunderbirds
My interview with Rich Redmond. Best known as the studio and touring drummer for Jason Aldean, Rich is also a professional speaker, author, and actor. He talks about bringing the live show energy into the studio, performing on TV shows, and his ability to both find an pursue multiple opportunities. Cris: How do you write your songs?
Dyson of Baha Men: We pretty much just go at it. Sometimes we have tracks sent by producers and we sit down and have writing sessions with the writers in the band. Or we have jam sessions where we are just messing around with the instruments, creating different grooves and we freestyle out little hooks or a verse, come up with an idea and run with it. John Papa Gros talks about developing his own style on the Hammond B3 organ
