Proud of this quote

6/29/2016

“We wouldn't have had the year we had without your hard work. There is a whole different buzz happening. I think it is due to all of your efforts on social media. Thanks, Cris!” - Huey Lewis & The News

I'm A Musician

6/26/2016

"I'm a musician. I write music. I play songs. That's what I do. I'm in the music business and that's what I have to do first. I fell in love with music as a kid, listening to songs, sitting at the piano playing songs, going over to friends' houses, “Hey, I learned this song. Let's play it together.” That primal energy of creating music and playing it with somebody is the thing I love the most. So I keep that at the forefront." - client John Papa Gros

Someday

6/21/2016

How the song “Someday” came about. It's me, AD, and Ryan on a night off in Atlantic City. We're at the Dolphin Bar at the AC Club … it's closed now … we're sitting there half lit. Drinking. Night off. In the midst of a conversation, AD raised his glass and said, “Here's to someday.”

Ryan stood up and said, “There's a song in there somewhere. All right. I'm gone.” And he went upstairs.

The next day there is a knock at my door and Ryan is there with a guitar and a little scratch piece of paper that I still have with the first lyric that he wrote for it and the melody. - Louis Prima of clients

Grittier Singing

6/10/2016

Cris: How have you changed as a singer over the years?

Darcy of clients Darcy Malone and The Tangle: I think I have gotten a little grittier, a little dirtier in my singing, channeling my inner Janis or Tina.

Johnny Colla: The Curse of the Home Studio

6/6/2016

Cris: Are you constantly singing when you're at home?

Client Johnny Colla
of Huey Lewis & The News: Yeah, I am. I mean I am constantly working. That is sort of the curse of having a home studio and more ideas than time. It's sort of always calling me. But I don't walk around the house singing much. I leave that up to my wife. She's a classically trained singer. And she puts the headphones on and whether she's cleaning or in the kitchen, she's singing at the top of her lungs. So I don't stand a chance.
