“We wouldn't have had the year we had without your hard work. There is a whole different buzz happening. I think it is due to all of your efforts on social media. Thanks, Cris!” - Huey Lewis & The News
To find out how I can improve your social media, contact me at [email protected] "I'm a musician. I write music. I play songs. That's what I do. I'm in the music business and that's what I have to do first. I fell in love with music as a kid, listening to songs, sitting at the piano playing songs, going over to friends' houses, “Hey, I learned this song. Let's play it together.” That primal energy of creating music and playing it with somebody is the thing I love the most. So I keep that at the forefront." - client John Papa Gros
A funny promo for client Rich Redmond's new line of signature drumsticks. And yes, I have been tempted to do this myself at offices I have worked. How the song “Someday” came about. It's me, AD, and Ryan on a night off in Atlantic City. We're at the Dolphin Bar at the AC Club … it's closed now … we're sitting there half lit. Drinking. Night off. In the midst of a conversation, AD raised his glass and said, “Here's to someday.” Ryan stood up and said, “There's a song in there somewhere. All right. I'm gone.” And he went upstairs. The next day there is a knock at my door and Ryan is there with a guitar and a little scratch piece of paper that I still have with the first lyric that he wrote for it and the melody. - Louis Prima of clients Louis Prima Jr and the Witnesses A beautiful and poignant song from client Jonatha Brooke. It is from her upcoming album, "Midnight. Hallelujah.", which you can find out more about at http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/jonathabrookealbum?utm_campaign=project13394 Cris: How have you changed as a singer over the years?
Darcy of clients Darcy Malone and The Tangle: I think I have gotten a little grittier, a little dirtier in my singing, channeling my inner Janis or Tina. Nikki and Nick of clients Time for Three shredding on the violins. And this was just for warm up. Cris: Are you constantly singing when you're at home?
Client Johnny Colla of Huey Lewis & The News: Yeah, I am. I mean I am constantly working. That is sort of the curse of having a home studio and more ideas than time. It's sort of always calling me. But I don't walk around the house singing much. I leave that up to my wife. She's a classically trained singer. And she puts the headphones on and whether she's cleaning or in the kitchen, she's singing at the top of her lungs. So I don't stand a chance. Client Rich Redmond with advice about the business side of the music business: No one is better than you |
