Client Marc Broussard with an awesome performance of "Let Me Leave". This guy has an absolutely killer voice. You can tell that he sings from his soul. This business is also fun for playing six degrees of separation. For instance, the latest album by client Jake Shimabukuro was produced by recording legend Alan Parsons. In addition to impressive work with his own Alan Parsons Project, he was also an assistant engineer on the Beatles' albums "Abbey Road" and "Let It Be" and the engineer for Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon". I can't help but think that he has a few interesting stories.
From client Jake Shimabukuro. Music has certainly changed my life. Because of music, I am now an entrepreneur. And it is not really something I ever thought I would be.
During a recent conversation with a friend, I suddenly remembered "Chrissie Hynde's Advice To Chick Rockers." I first saw it in 1994. I was working at a radio station and this was printed on the disc jacket for one of the new Pretenders singles.
Like Chrissie Hynde, this advice is cool, cuts to the heart of things, and is timeless. And you could argue that it is advice that a musician should apply to her (or his) social media. |
