"Whenever we play stadiums, I will go up to the highest seat (and I don't like heights) … but I will march up there just to get some perspective. I know a person paid full price to sit here. Somehow I have to set myself apart and be an entertainer and reach that person. If I do, maybe he will have the time of his life and continue coming to our shows. - Rich" Content developed with Laura Tate...
"I'm not in competition with anyone. I'm doing my own thing. I'm not trying to be a Bonnie Raitt. I'm just trying to be authentic and true to myself. I think that's where a lot of singers fall short. They're worried about the competition. They try to sound like somebody else and they lose who they are, lose their authenticity." Content developed with Cowboy Mouth...
Fred LeBlanc: Mardi Gras is a perfect metaphor for life. There are a lot of reasons to be afraid, to worry, but for a certain time period in New Orleans, we forget all that and we just celebrate. We celebrate the ability to celebrate. I think that is such a perfect metaphor for life, for living. Sometimes you just have to celebrate the fact that you've made it this far. There are so many people who haven't. With social media content, you kind of have to shrug your shoulders when it is comes to the competition. After all, you are competing with everyone. You are competing with the latest superhero movie and its effects-filled trailer and you are competing against a friend who just posted a photo of her new kitten. And in terms of stats, odds are they will both crush you. Shrug your shoulders, don't worry about the stats, and create something of quality. Content developed with Huey Lewis & The News...
Bill Gibson: My dad was a frustrated jazz drummer. He was an architect by trade, but he just loved big band jazz and I was raised on big band jazz. He’d take me to see Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Buddy Rich and Art Blakey and all these great drummers. He would always tell me, “Watch his left hand.” Of course, you couldn’t see his left hand, it was going so fast. That’s the kind of stuff he loved. He turned me on to it and I’m grateful for it. "I'm definitely not all of the people in my songs. I'm not the voice of all of these protagonists. I make shit up. I embellish. That’s half the fun. - Jonatha" Fun new song / video from client Mark Bryan of Hootie and the Blowfish... Content developed with the BoDeans...
Kurt Neumann: All I've ever tried to do with my guitar playing and singing is to create something that's really just me. My own thing. My own sound. Easy to identify. And the same goes for BoDeans songs. I try to keep it simple. I think that's one of the elements that makes for a good song. It's easy for people to sing along with us. To me, that's what music is about. That's why you play: So everybody can sing along together. Just as Facebook needs to convince people that it is not a division of the Kremlin's Marketing Department, Twitter needs to convince people that it is more than just a repository for the world's hate.
