Potential social media myth #1: If you are a band, you have to have your own app. That is how your fans will follow you.

I have spoken with a lot of people and so far I have yet to find anyone who has downloaded a band's app. Even tech-savvy teenagers who use their phones all day long suggested that getting apps for individual bands would be kind of annoying.
