Ben Sesar (drummer for Brad Paisley): The personal side of drumming

Ben Sesar (drummer for Brad Paisley): I view it from two perspectives. I'm an accompanist. That's my job. That's what I do. And I love that. And then there's the personal side that just sees the drum set as its own instrument. I enjoy sitting down behind a kit with no one else around and just listening to the drums, being in a flow. Maybe nobody ever hears it. I don't always set up my camera. A lot of really great stuff gets lost. And that's okay. I'm not necessarily trying to show the world at all times, "Oh look what I can do" or "Look what I'm doing now." There's a very personal side of it that I practice for that isn't for other people per se. That's just how it evolved for me.
