Cris Cohen: A number of musicians I have spoken with need constraints. They need deadlines. It is interesting that, even during the pandemic shut down, when there were few deadlines, you were still productive.

Ben Sesar (drummer for Brad Paisley): I tend to over-constrain. It's the way I'm wired. So I'm always looking for that state of balance and flow where things feel natural and not homogenized. I think anything you do with less tension is going to be more productive. For me, too much constraint causes tension and the creative process can't flow. So I'm exploring ways to be more creative.
