Cris: What is your drumming philosophy?
Chris Kimmerer (drummer for Thomas Rhett): As a drummer I still want to pursue excellence in a lot of areas. My technique and my studies are important to me. But I think my philosophy as a professional musician is that I want to use my playing to connect with people. I try to play things that will support the other musicians on stage and will also hopefully emote something to the people who are here to experience the show. As a drummer, I want to engage as much as possible with people. I want to connect with the other band members and connect with the audience. From Seth Godin's book "The Icarus Deception" - "I don't care how many friends you have on Facebook or how many followers you have on Twitter... I care about how much people will miss you if you're not back here again tomorrow."
